In 1956, Eugene Scherzinger identified the need for deep foundations to complete his poured concrete wall business. Thus, Scherzinger Drilling was started. At that time, drilled shaft equipment was chain and cable operated; crude by modern standards, but they got the job done. In about 5 short years, Scherzinger Drilling grew to over 5 rigs, drilling residential, commercial, and industrial foundations in Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Contracts included rock quarry drilling in Bloomington, Indiana.
