The Start of our Journey

The Start of our Journey

In 1956, Eugene Scherzinger identified the need for deep foundations to complete his poured concrete wall business. Thus, Scherzinger Drilling was started. At that time, drilled shaft equipment was chain and cable operated; crude by modern standards, but they got the job done. In about 5 short years, Scherzinger Drilling grew to over 5 rigs, drilling residential, commercial, and industrial foundations in Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Contracts included rock quarry drilling in Bloomington, Indiana.

Moving to New Location

In 1999, Ken moved the office and shop to its new location at 9629 State Route 128, Miamitown, Ohio, three miles north of I-74. The new 36,000 square foot facility, situated on 11 acres, allows for complete rig maintenance, dispatching, and custom tool fabrication. This facility is indispensable in producing over 500 completed projects and 200,000 lineal feet of drilled shafts per year
